Wicked Campervan Trip Options: Pickup & Dropoff in Puerto Varas only

You’re about to start a journey through a land full of history and adventure waiting for you. Walk among millenary trees, beds of lava, colorful lakes and landscapes you’ll find hard to believe. Just get in your Wicked campervan and start driving the road of freedom, the real Wicked experience!

Ok so, this are the facts:
– You’re gonna drive through some of the most amazing landscapes Chile has to offer.
– You’ll be enchanted with the lakes (mostly because of the color of the waters)
– You are the owner of your time. No one can tell you what to do or when. It’s just you and your campervan.
– There’s no way you’re not having the best time of your life during this trip. Unless you’re not doing it on a Wicked campervan.

Ready for the perfect trip? There are 364 Km (225 Miles) between Puerto Varas and the heart of Araucanía. Now, between those two points, and along the kilometers you will drive, there’s a universe of places you should (or have to) visit.

First one is a circuit, composed by the towns of Llanquihue and Frutillar. Both places are located on the edge of the Llanquihue lake and share the german influence and tradition.

At Llanquihue lake you can practice water skiing, swimming, sport fishing, sailing or windsurf. It is also a perfect spot to make great photography.

The lake is located near the route you must follow if you want to go to Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, which has eight routes for trekking and offers the chance to stay (maybe for the first time since you arrived) in direct contact with wild nature. From the lake and the park you can see the great Osorno Volcano, which is possible to climb if you want. If you decide to do it, consider you’ll need about a complete day to climb it.

Let’s keep going north. There’s another great National Park called Puyehue (One of the biggest in Chile indeed) which is near the Puyehue Lake and where is located the Casablanca volcano. In the slopes of this volcano you’ll find the Antillanca ski center, with 14 sky slopes and the perfect conditions to practice snowboarding and skiing, plus attractions like boutiques, ski schools, nightclub, tempered pool, and much more!

Once you’ve enjoyed everything you can at Puyehue, you can drive back to Osorno and there you have two options. First one is to drive coast, so you can visit the Valdivian Coastal Reserve, a natural sanctuary created 11 years ago to protect native forests and fauna. The reserve is at Northwest of Osorno and Southwest of Valdivia, called by the locals as the “city of the rain”.

The other option is to drive East again from Osorno and visit Ranco Lake. There you’ll find the towns of “Lago Ranco” and Futrono, at south and north of the lake respectively. Here you can practice any water sport you can think of. One great thing about the lake is that it doesn’t have too much visitors, if you are looking for some time alone to enjoy wilderness.

Even when you have already saw a lot of mountains, snow (depending on the time of the year) and lakes, you’ll be amazed by the beauty of the Seven Lakes District, your new destiny now you are approaching to Temuco.

The Seven Lakes District is considered one of the main attractions southern Chile has to offer. Right now you’re 130 km (80 Miles) away from Temuco, which means you have to drive two hours- give or take- to be there. But first, you have to visit the Seven Lakes.

The Seven Lakes are Panguipulli, Calafquén, Riñihue, Pirihueico, Neltume, Pellaifa and Pullinque. All of them perfect spots to take amazing pictures, go swim or do some sailing, sport fishing, water skiing and trekking.

Before arriving to Temuco and starting your trip back to Puerto Varas, you can go visit Villarrica and Pucón, both places marked by the German influence, and located on the shore of Villarrica Lake. If you’re looking for good food, hot springs and more amazing nature, this is the place to go. For example, you can go to Huerquehue National Park, where you can find the green lake, just as amazing as it sounds.

For the great ending of this trip, and only after enjoying every single moment you can spend on Villarrica, Pucón and its surroundings, drive northeast and visit Conguillío National Park, one of the most popular parks between tourists in Chile, mainly because of its beauty and all the activities you can do. For example? Drive snowmobile, climb the imposing Llaima volcano or navigate through its water looking for the “hidden waterfall”, a 40 meters tall nature show where to find a big variety of wild life.

As you can see, there’s a lot of places where to go and be amazed by nature, where to share with people and know the culture of where you will be. Where to go first or later is up to you, but you can’t miss what Chile has to offer, and you can’t miss the chance to live the real Wicked experience!
